Breathable Deadstock Cotton Yarn
Cotton is breathable, absorbent and comfortable against the skin, making it a natural choice for warm-weather tops, cardigans and everyday garments. Our deadstock cotton yarn comes from limited surplus production and can include pure cotton as well as luxury blends. Its smooth surface gives clear stitch definition and creates fabric with a clean, relaxed drape.
Pure cotton has less natural elasticity than wool, so it does not spring back into shape in quite the same way. Blends can adjust that behaviour: wool can contribute elasticity and shape retention, while cashmere brings softness and a light, indulgent handle. This makes cotton blends useful when you want summer comfort with more body or resilience.
Plan the Finished Fabric with a Swatch
Compare cone yarns by fibre content and metres per 100g, then knit a swatch large enough to show the fabric's true weight and drape. Wash and dry it in the same way you intend to care for the finished piece before measuring gauge. This is especially important for a plant fibre with limited elasticity, where needle size and garment construction strongly influence the result.
